The Tesseract

ALBUM DETAILS

The Tesseract explores perspective, transformation, time, memory, and the human experience of navigating a reality that is often more complex than it first appears.

Unlike albums focused primarily on external events, The Tesseract turns inward. The songs examine how people process change, carry history, confront pain, and reinterpret their experiences over time.

The album's title is drawn from the concept of a tesseract—a four-dimensional object that challenges conventional understanding of space and perspective. That idea serves as a fitting metaphor for the album itself. Every event can be viewed from multiple angles. Every memory changes as we revisit it. Every experience contains layers that may only become visible with time.

The songs reflect different facets of that journey.

Roots

Gotta root down

Deep in the earth

Roots remember

Spiral down through the mantle

Deep through inner core

Wisdom and strength

Knowledge born

North african shore

United once free

To sway and be

Swing with musicality

To east and west breeze

For centuries I stood beneath

The most high

From ra to yeshua

I've watched empires rise

And kingdoms fall

Unbreakable

Unshakeable

With wisdom seen

Then came the whine

Of the chain saw

Slice through history

Still scarred

Still scarred

Through coexistence

And persistence

For millennia I've witnessed

Every storm

Through summer

Spring

And fall

I watched rivers feed nations

And kingdoms touch the sky

Saw traders cross horizons

Long before the wanderers arrived

Wanderers

Roamers

From hull to mast

Tall ships sailed the seas

Heartbreak cargo

Driven by greed

Names stripped away

Tongues torn apart

And every mark they carved in me

Left scars within my bark

Because they brought

The chain saw

Slice through history

Slice through history

Another one falling

Still scarred

Still scarred

Slice through history

From panke

To mahogany

All history

A part of me

Intertwined within the earth

The vines speak

Loud

My breath forms cumulus clouds

Proud

Attempts to deconstruct

Two thousand years of trust

Expunged with arrogance

And gall

At the hands

Of that chain saw

Chain Saw is a story from the perspective of an ancient African tree. The tree survived for thousands of years and watched over until humans came to harvest it with a chain saw.

The Chain Saw is also a metaphor for chattel slavery and how Africans were taken from the homeland, tortured and separated from their identity and shipped abroad.
Chain Saw was inspired by disruption, force, and the moments when life cuts through comfort, routine, and expectation.

The song captures the feeling of sudden change that cannot be ignored or avoided.

The chain saw functions as a symbol of transformation through destruction.

Sometimes growth requires removing what no longer serves us.

The song explores the uncomfortable reality that progress often involves dismantling old beliefs, habits, relationships, or identities before something new can emerge.

Somehow they’ll never know
The masquerade
The delicate pace
Exists to let it flow
The juice
The voice
Liquid choice
Flies inside the veins
Churning, burning, yearning
Compulsion mixed with absurdity
That makes it come alive
Multiplies
The pen into the pad
As the words spark the flame

Watchillie

**Duality** is one of WATCH ]|['s most personal songs. It explores the feeling of living between two seemingly different worlds: the analytical mindset of an engineer and the instinctive world of an artist.

For most of my life, those sides have felt completely different. One part of me is structured, methodical, and logical. The other seems to arrive unannounced, bringing melodies, lyrics, and ideas that often feel as though they are discovered rather than consciously created.

Many of my songs begin as a stream of consciousness. Instead of forcing lyrics onto the page, I simply open the faucet and let them flow. Sometimes I don't fully understand where the words come from until much later. Creating music isn't something I decide to do; it often feels like something I have to do. The songs become a release valve for thoughts and emotions that build until they demand expression.

**Duality** is about learning to live with those different sides rather than trying to choose between them. The engineer and the artist are not competing identities. Together, they make me who I am.

At its core, **Duality** asks a simple question: *Where does creativity come from?*

The song isn't about multiple personalities or becoming someone else. It's about the strange experience many creative people describe; the feeling that inspiration arrives from somewhere beyond deliberate thought. Whether that source is the subconscious, intuition, years of accumulated experience, or something more mysterious is left intentionally unanswered.

The recurring imagery of prisms, shifting colors, and changing perspectives reflects a mind that rarely experiences life from a single angle. Just as white light separates into many colors through a prism, one person can contain many ways of thinking without contradiction. Analytical reasoning, emotional intuition, technical precision, artistic expression, curiosity, and imagination all coexist within the same mind.

The repeated refrain

*"Cause I gotta make... Gotta cook... Gotta see..."*

captures the central tension of the song. Creativity isn't portrayed as a hobby or a choice. It becomes a compulsion, an internal pressure that continues to build until it is released through writing, music, or art. The repetition itself mirrors that cycle of persistent thoughts demanding expression.

As the song progresses, subtle background whispers begin to appear, almost like another voice sharing the same space. Rather than representing a separate personality, they symbolize the quiet internal dialogue that often accompanies the creative process; the persistent thought that keeps returning, offering guidance, challenging assumptions, or nudging the next idea into existence. By the end of the song, those whispers evolve from commenting on the present to expressing something timeless, suggesting an acceptance of the creative force instead of resisting it.

Musically, **Duality** was envisioned as a companion to the songs on *The Tesseract*. The heartbeat-like rhythm, progressive meters, spoken-word verses, cinematic atmosphere, and soaring choruses reinforce the feeling that the listener is witnessing thoughts taking shape in real time. Even the groove reflects the song's theme: an obsessive rhythmic pulse that never fully lets go.

Ultimately, **Duality** isn't about having two separate identities. It's about recognizing that we are often far more than one thing. Logic and imagination, discipline and inspiration, engineering and artistry can all exist within the same person. Sometimes the greatest challenge isn't choosing between them; it's learning to trust the moments when they work together.

Consume with pure voracity
The past is always present
As it’s comin’ back around again
Unspoken rules from broken truths
Opponent that won’t let me win
No freedom to be
No freedom to see
A hostage and I’m haunted

With a mission goal to resonate
To live and thrive
To be alive
To be the verb that conjugates
Yet somewhere in the axis
I reacted ill and tempted fate
Not fortified

Echo is a story of the haunting voices we can all hear from time to time when we have regrets or shame. It describes how these voices can become loud, impossible to drown out, and they can often haunt us in an inescapable way.
Echo examines the lasting effects of experiences, conversations, and relationships.

The song was inspired by the realization that certain moments continue influencing us long after they have ended.

The echo becomes a metaphor for memory.

Words spoken years ago can still affect us.

Acts of kindness or cruelty can reverberate throughout a lifetime.

The song explores how the past continues to shape the present and asks which echoes deserve to be carried forward.

*Gladiator* explores the hidden cost of surviving emotional pain.

The inspiration came from recognizing how years of disappointment, trauma, uncertainty, and repeated emotional wounds can train a person to anticipate disaster before it arrives. At first, this constant vigilance feels like wisdom. It feels responsible. It feels like strength.

Over time, however, that protection quietly becomes a prison.

The song uses the Roman gladiator as a metaphor for someone who has spent years fighting invisible battles. Every scar represents another lesson learned. Every victory reinforces the belief that survival depends on always being prepared for the next attack.

The central symbol is the **Scutum**, the large Roman shield.

Throughout the song, the shield represents prediction, hypervigilance, emotional distancing, catastrophizing, and every defense mechanism built to avoid being hurt again.

The turning point comes with the realization:

"Prediction isn't protection."

The narrator discovers that he has become so focused on raising the shield that he forgot the one thing it was supposed to protect: his ability to love, trust, hope, and remain emotionally open.

The closing spoken line,

"I forgot... to lower... the Scutum."

is intentionally understated.

It is not spoken with defeat.

It is spoken with awakening.

Sometimes healing is not about building stronger armor.

Sometimes it begins by finally setting it down.

The symbolism in this song is especially powerful because the shield is not portrayed as the enemy. It served a purpose. It helped the narrator survive. The tragedy is simply that survival strategies are often carried long after the battlefield has disappeared.

On the surface, *Gladiator* sounds like a song about strength.

Underneath, it is about fear disguised as strength.

The opening immediately establishes the psychological pattern:

"Prediction is protection..."

This is the internal belief that if every possible danger can be anticipated, then pain can be prevented.

It is the voice of hypervigilance.

Every interaction becomes something to analyze.

Every silence becomes evidence.

Every uncertainty becomes a potential threat.

The verses describe someone who has trained for this mindset over years.

Not because they wanted to.

Because experience taught them to.

The repeated references to training, arenas, battles, and titles suggest someone who has become exceptionally skilled at emotional survival. They have learned to endure disappointment, rejection, betrayal, conflict, and loss.

The irony is that these victories slowly transform into identity.

The narrator begins believing that constant readiness is simply who they are.

The chorus introduces the Scutum.

Historically, the Roman scutum was designed to absorb impact and protect the soldier from incoming attacks.

Psychologically, it becomes a symbol for emotional defense.

Avoidance.

Control.

Planning.

Worst-case thinking.

Keeping distance.

Remaining guarded.

Each of these behaviors reduces immediate emotional risk, but they also reduce connection.

The bridge delivers the emotional revelation:

"Prediction isn't protection."

This is the collapse of the belief system that has guided the narrator for years.

The realization is not that preparation is bad.

It is that preparation has become permanent.

The final line,

"I forgot... to lower... the Scutum."

is the heart of the entire song.

The shield was never meant to stay raised forever.

A soldier cannot embrace someone while hiding behind it.

Cannot receive comfort through it.

Cannot fully experience joy from behind it.

The narrator realizes that the greatest threat is no longer the world outside.

It is the wall they unknowingly built inside themselves.

*Gladiator* ultimately asks a difficult question:

How many of the defenses that once saved us are now preventing us from living?

The song intentionally leaves that question unanswered, allowing every listener to identify the shield they may still be carrying.

This song is about WATCH3's younger brother but can apply to anyone who experienced lifelong adversity.

It is a recognition of triumph and moving to a healing and more prosperous place in life.

Celebrating by realizing growth is ahead and bad times have past and are "in the rear view" mirror.
In The Rear View was inspired by perseverance and the ability to keep moving forward despite adversity.

The song reflects on challenges, setbacks, and difficult chapters while emphasizing growth rather than defeat.

Drawing from personal experiences, it acknowledges hardship without allowing hardship to define the future.

The rear-view mirror serves as a powerful metaphor.

The past remains visible.

Its lessons remain valuable.

But it is no longer the direction of travel.

The song explores the difference between remembering and living in the past.

Its central message is that resilience comes from carrying lessons forward while refusing to remain trapped by previous circumstances.

Watchillie

Obsolete is a story of aging. A description of the feelings that accompany moving thru time and arriving to where you begin to feel unseen and 'obsolete.'

Obsolete explores change, aging, relevance, and the fear of being left behind.

The song reflects on how technology, culture, and society continually evolve.

The concept of obsolescence operates on both technical and personal levels.

Machines become outdated.

Ideas become outdated.

Sometimes people fear they may become outdated as well.

The song challenges that assumption by questioning whether value should be measured solely through novelty.

Experience, wisdom, and perspective often remain valuable long after trends have changed.

Implode is a story describing the frustrations and difficulties we experience in life. The pain that makes you feel like you want to Implode and dissapear into nothingness.

Implode was written as an honest exploration of suffering and the ways people learn to endure it.

Rather than focusing solely on physical discomfort, the song addresses emotional, psychological, and existential forms of pain as well.

The song acknowledges hardship while refusing to surrender to it.

Implode functions as both burden and teacher.

Throughout the song, suffering is portrayed as something that can reshape identity, perception, and priorities.

The song does not glorify pain.

Instead, it examines how adversity often reveals strengths that would otherwise remain hidden.

Its message is that pain may influence us, but it does not have to define us.

Kick-kick
I'm kicking faster
Hope seen through the crosshairs
Tryna outrun disaster
Slide
Surrounded in gray
Eyes fixed on the shoreline
Hands squeeze the tether
Still I'm sliding down the vine
Slide
Spiraling down
Sweat and tears soak my chest
Exhausted and hopeless
Every second another test
Yet I
Still
Slide down

Don't fight
Don't fear
Hold tight
You're here

The more I fight
Resist
I'm gonna sink
Faster
Amid anxiety
Panic
Mind feeling manic
I'm desperate
The more I fight
Resist
I'm gonna sink
Faster
In this moment
Gotta surrender
Gotta chill
Listen
Stop
Be open
Be still

Time slows
Darkness closes in
Sunlight finds
Tears rivers on myskin
Weeping beneath
A cerulean sky
Destiny clouded
Doubt hanging high
Slide
Quietly searching
Through shadows I've made
Looking for hope
Where it once had stayed
Mirages fading
Truth now revealed
Every scar
Another wound healed
Still spiraling down
Sweat and tears soak my chest
Exhausted and hopeless
Every second another test
Labored breath
As I
Slide
Down

Repeat

Pull harder
No
No
No
Pull faster
No
No
No
Dis
As
Ter
No
No
No
I'm captured

Refuting dark
Complacency
Surrender not
My soul believes
I'm gonna live
It's not my time
Hands find again
The tether line
Pull
Pull
With all of me
I faced the darkness of doubt
Now I
Believe

Situation weighted
Overwhelmed
Concentrated
Pressure
Became experience
Doubt became
The wound that festered
No longer held
No longer locked
Prisoner
Captive not
The spiral stopped
I choose to move
Still more to prove
I persist
Escapes the plan
Escapes resist
No longer tormented and pulled down by
Quicksand

Pull
Pull
Pull
Escaped the sand
That was the plan
Pull
Pull
Pull
Rise
This
Is
Myyyy
Time

Rise
Rise
Keep moving
Rise
I'm alive

*Quicksand* was inspired by the feeling of being trapped inside circumstances that seem impossible to control.

Whether the source is anxiety, uncertainty, loss, relationship struggles, or simply the weight of life's demands, there are seasons where every attempt to escape only seems to pull us deeper.

The quicksand becomes a metaphor for those moments.

The instinct is always to fight harder.

Kick faster.

Pull harder.

Find some way to force ourselves back to solid ground.

But quicksand doesn't work that way.

The harder we struggle, the more energy we spend, and the more convinced we become that we're losing.

Throughout the song, the shoreline remains visible.

Hope is never completely gone.

It can still be seen in the distance, even when it feels unreachable.

One of the most important moments arrives during the whispered pre-chorus:

"Don't fight...
Don't fear...
Hold tight...
You're here..."

Those words represent the quiet voice that often gets drowned out by panic. They remind us that surviving isn't always about exerting more force. Sometimes it begins by becoming still enough to think clearly, breathe deeply, and trust that not every battle is won through struggle.

Musically, the steady pulse mirrors both a racing heartbeat and the relentless determination to keep moving forward. The contrast between the heavy verses and the restrained whispers reinforces the tension between panic and surrender.

*Quicksand* is ultimately about resilience.

Not the kind that comes from overpowering adversity, but the kind that comes from refusing to let adversity convince you that hope has disappeared.

Every image in *Quicksand* represents a different stage of psychological overwhelm.

The opening immediately places the listener inside the struggle.

"Kick...
Kick...
Kick-kick..."

These aren't simply physical movements.

They are the frantic attempts to solve problems faster than they are arriving.

Work harder.

Think harder.

Fix everything immediately.

The repetition captures the escalating urgency that often accompanies anxiety.

The shoreline represents hope.

It is never lost from sight.

The narrator knows where safety is.

The tragedy is that knowing where you want to be does not automatically reveal how to get there.

The crosshairs introduce another layer of meaning.

Hope is visible, but it feels constantly threatened.

The future becomes something fragile rather than something certain.

The rope or tether symbolizes connection.

Whether that connection is faith, family, trusted friends, purpose, therapy, or inner resolve, it becomes the one thing keeping the narrator from disappearing beneath the surface.

Then comes the emotional turning point.

The whispered pre-chorus:

"Don't fight...
Don't fear...
Hold tight...
You're here..."

The volume drops because wisdom rarely shouts.

It whispers.

It stands in direct opposition to every instinct created by fear.

Instead of demanding more effort, it offers permission to stop escalating.

This is the paradox at the center of the song.

The solution isn't found by kicking faster.

It begins by interrupting panic.

The chorus reinforces that survival often happens one movement at a time.

Not dramatic victories.

Just another breath.

Another pull.

Another decision to keep going.

The repeated commands,

"Pull...
Pull...
Pull..."

are intentionally left open to interpretation.

They can mean pulling toward hope.

Pulling yourself together.

Pulling strength from those around you.

Or simply refusing to let go of the tether that still connects you to life.

Unlike *Gladiator*, where the obstacle is an internal defense mechanism, *Quicksand* portrays the struggle as something external that threatens to consume the narrator.

The danger is real.

The fear is real.

The exhaustion is real.

Yet hope never completely disappears.

That is why the shoreline remains visible from beginning to end.

*Quicksand* suggests that resilience is not measured by how quickly we escape difficult seasons.

It is measured by our willingness to keep reaching for solid ground, even when every step feels impossibly heavy.

The song is a reminder that some of life's hardest battles are not won through force.

They are won through patience, trust, and the quiet determination to keep moving forward until firm ground is beneath our feet once again.

**The Edge** was inspired by WATCH ]|['s personal experience witnessing someone reach the brink of suicide and trying to understand the mindset that could make such a decision feel like the only remaining option.

Rather than telling a literal story, the song explores the internal psychology of someone whose thoughts have become trapped in a self-reinforcing cycle. It asks what happens when emotions become indistinguishable from facts, when conviction replaces curiosity, and when the mind begins treating its own conclusions as absolute truth.

The lyrics intentionally avoid assigning blame or presenting easy answers. Instead, they attempt to step inside that moment of overwhelming certainty, where pain, shame, regret, and hopelessness create a reality that feels unquestionable to the person experiencing it.

Musically, *The Edge* leans into a darker alternative rock sound inspired by the emotional intensity of Audioslave while maintaining the introspective and psychological themes that run throughout *The Tesseract*. The result is less a song about suicide itself and more a meditation on the dangerous power of unchecked certainty.

Ultimately, *The Edge* is about compassion. It is an attempt to understand rather than judge, and to give voice to a perspective that is often hidden behind silence.

At its core, *The Edge* is a study of cognitive certainty.

The recurring phrase, **"My Truth / My Conviction,"** establishes the central premise: the danger begins when personal experience becomes indistinguishable from objective reality. As the song progresses, that idea evolves into **"My Verdict"** and finally **"My Prison,"** illustrating how belief can transform into judgment and ultimately become self-imposed confinement.

The imagery throughout the song reinforces this narrowing of perspective. The "thinker within the blinkers" represents tunnel vision, where alternative explanations disappear and every thought reinforces the same conclusion. The recurring references to vines, spirals, tension, and thorns depict a mind that continuously folds inward, becoming increasingly isolated from outside perspective.

One of the song's most symbolic passages describes constructing a private belief system:

"My own religion

My will designs

The altar where

I sacrifice."

Here, religion is used metaphorically rather than spiritually. It represents the creation of an unquestionable internal doctrine where assumptions become sacred, conclusions become unquestionable, and the person unknowingly sacrifices hope, relationships, and ultimately themselves upon that altar.

The repeated image of **"the edge"** serves several purposes at once. It is the literal edge of a cliff, the emotional edge of despair, the psychological edge where perspective begins to collapse, and the existential edge between life and death. The song intentionally leaves that symbolism open, allowing listeners to connect it to their own experiences of reaching a breaking point.

The final repetition of **"Look down"** offers no resolution because the song was never intended to provide one. Instead, it invites listeners to sit with the uncomfortable reality that moments of profound hopelessness often arise not from a lack of intelligence or strength, but from a mind that has become completely convinced that its painful conclusions are the only possible truth.

More than anything, *The Edge* is an exercise in empathy. Rather than asking, "How could someone do this?" it asks, "What must the world look like from where they are standing?" That shift in perspective is the emotional foundation of the song and the reason it exists.

What I taste, I see

I hear

I touch, I feel

Inside my mind

The thought reveals

The axis

Objectively observed

All genders, races

Consumed with polarization

And emphatic expression

Inciting dissemination

Division

Nobody's listening

To the axis

Infinite possibilities mapped

Laid out

Within the crystal lattice

Interleaved and interwoven

Intelligence beneath the mathematical

Perpendicular to flesh

Eyes watch down upon the mirror

Seeing the axis of fact

A holistic view

Independent of space and time

Patience and attention

Now a traded commodity

Critical thinking

A lost art

Sinking into the tar pit

Footprints of a mighty brachiosaurus

While the populace attention span

Flaps in synchronicity

With a mosquito's wings

As left and right argue

The location of the fulcrum

Ingestible truth intravenously

While the written word

Fades into the dust cloud

Of a spilled golden urn

Arrhythmically maintaining balance

Non-sine-u-soy-dal world

The title track serves as the philosophical centerpiece of the album.

Inspired by higher dimensions, perception, and the complexity of human experience, the song reflects on how reality often contains more layers than we initially recognize.

The tesseract becomes a symbol of perspective itself.

The tesseract represents hidden dimensions.

Not necessarily physical dimensions, but emotional, intellectual, and experiential ones.

The song explores:

Multiple viewpoints
Growth through reflection
The complexity of identity
The passage of time
The interconnected nature of experience

Just as a two-dimensional being would struggle to comprehend a three-dimensional object, human beings often struggle to understand the full meaning of experiences while living through them.

The song suggests that wisdom emerges when we learn to view life from perspectives beyond our immediate circumstances.
